Today is your day,
my good old friend.
So many of us came,
came to shake your hand

To shake your hand,
and thank you for it all,
for all the things you did
were they either big or small.

What would I have done,
so often without your advice?
I would have been lost
like a scater on the fragile ice.

It is your wisdom,
of which I learn.
From you I got the passion,
which still makes my heart burn.

You were the one,
who taught me to be a man.
And this is why I´m here
proud to call myself your friend !
